Marie Lundmark

Marie Lundmark, Honorary President of Skating Finland and Honorary Member of the International Skating Union (ISU), is one of the most influential figures in both Finnish and international figure skating. As a founding member and the first Chair of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee, Lundmark has played a central role in the development of synchronized skating for decades.

She has served nearly 50 years in the leadership of Finnish figure skating, 20 years on the ISU Council, almost a decade on the Finnish Olympic Committee Board, and in numerous international expert roles, such as the figure skating lead for the International University Sports Federation (FISU). Marie Lundmark’s extensive expertise in the sport also includes single skating and ice dance, where she has long served e.g. as an ISU judge as well as a technical delegate at the ISU Championships and Olympic Games.

Lundmark has been recognized with several major honours, including the Pro Urheilu Medal of the Ministry of Education and Culture, as well as the Grand Cross of Merit for Finnish Physical Education and Sports, the highest national recognition in the field. In addition, she has been named an Ambassador of Finnish Sport and inducted into the Hall of Fame of Sports in Southwest Finland.

Olympic inclusion for Synchronized Skating as the ultimate goal, her determined work for the sport is honored by the Marie Lundmark Trophy, an international ISU Challenger Series competition held for the third time in 2026, in her hometown Turku.
